Online Dating is a fun way to meet people online and to many it is actually easier to do than personal face to face dating. But online dating can be very nerve wracking which is why people tend to bend the truth a little or a lot! If you are looking for a way to meet people and decide to try dating sites, be sure to be on the lookout for the typical white lies that people will tell to sell themselves more. Based on personal experience, these are the lies I have encountered on numerous occasions I could write a book about it!

The first white lie “I’ve never done online dating before. This is my first time”: in reality, while this may seem true, nine times out of ten it isn’t and it’s probably their second or third time but they would rather you not know. Would you tell someone you have been on more than one dating sites or have tried online dating many times and it has failed? A potential partner at that? I think not!

The next white lie “I am not looking anything serious, just having fun dating around” Really? Then why choose an online dating site of all the places to date around and have fun? Why not date someone in person to have physical fun with? This is just a sign of online dating jitters which is normal. So if you come across someone that says this to you, the chances are they reaaallllyyyy hope you’re their soul mate but are just trying to play the cool card.

But the biggest white lie of them all comes with the pictures posted of the person. Never go off what you see until there’s a Skype date! I learnt this the hard way once! I don’t wish you the same heartache!

Emma: My Online Dating Experience…

Two of my closest friends met the loves of their lives on an online dating site. They both got married and are still happily married today and going strong. Looking at the bond that both have with their partners, I longed for such a bond and thought it was time I gave dating sites a try irregardless of all the horrors I had heard. So I found a dating site and created an online profile and tried to create the most unbiased picture of myself that I could. Soon after, I got some messages from persons that were unscrupulous to even mention and I got so turned off I deleted the profile right away.

Trying not to feel discouraged, I joined another site which seemed more reputable and I did the same thing: created a profile and portrayed an honest image of myself. After several emails back and forth with potentials, I decided to meet with one guy at a local coffee shop. Boy was I surprised! The picture he posted online was when he was 200 pounds lighter and I was so turned off by the fact that he was dishonest about his image.

So I said to myself, the third time will be the charm and tried a final time to meet a guy that I hopefully would like and I did. He was everything I was looking for in a man and we took our online dating conversations to phone calls and finally a date at a local restaurant. He was good looking and we had chemistry. We went out a few times after that and on one occasion the topic of intimacy came up and I explicitly stated I would only be intimate with someone I am committed to. That was the last time I heard from him because after we parted ways that night, he erased me from his life.

Although my experiences of dating online were bad, I still believe in it as my friends found true love and I know I can. I am still remaining positive about meeting that special someone and will not rule out meeting them online.

Dating Memories Dispelled

I hаνе always relied οn mу sixth sense tο guide mе through difficult times іn mу life. Eventually magic left thе common law marriages, bυt aroma іѕ clinging tο thе marriages Ɩіkе οnƖу a disillusioned desperate heartbroken person саn. I tried tο deal wіth mу aromatic dilemma. I talked аbουt іt, wrote аbουt іt, tried tο drown іt away wіth gallons οf liquid gold аnԁ even tried thе route tο denial haven. Bυt thе whiffs јυѕt lingered painfully straight tο mу soul.

Until mу Mother’s Ɩονе rescued mе. Shе treated mу battered body аnԁ soul tο ԁеƖісіουѕ pancakes; smothered іn syrup аnԁ cinnamon. Thе sinful smell οf cinnamon filled mу senses аnԁ brought a smile tο mу face. Fοr thе first time, іn a very long time, thе smell οf cinnamon ԁіԁ nοt dredge up painful memories. I ԁіԁ nοt recall sensual kisses, passionate lovemaking wіth a man whose masculine scent mingled wіth thе spicy notes οf hіѕ aftershave; thе mere scent thаt never failed tο mаkе mе lose touch wіth reality. I ԁіԁ nοt remember hοw hе used tο bring mу coffee, sprinkled wіth cinnamon, іn thе morning. Instead, I smiled, felt safe аnԁ comforted whіƖе thе smells οf cinnamon аnԁ freshly squeezed oranges mixed аnԁ filled thе air; thе smell οf mу Mother’s comfort. Mу Mother’s Ɩονе, pure аѕ thе smell οf fresh rain, drove away thе painful aromatic laced memories. Shе rescued mу soul frοm thе painful aromatic invasions.
