Hey Guys – Try Dating Plus Chivalry. It Works!
Since our last date, I got to know the Investment Banker more and more. We spoke on the phone daily before our second date, and I was admittedly a little detached because of my preoccupation with the Handy Man. On our second date, the Banker and I went to this charity dinner event set up at a downtown park. He asked me to be his date and showed up at my door with flowers. My jaw dropped. If this were described to me as a hypothetical situation, you know, “What if the Banker asked you to be his date for the charity event and showed up with flowers,” I would’ve gagged and rolled my eyes. When I actually received them, I gasped in amazement and my heart almost leapt out of my chest.
Oh, how I’ve missed you, chivalry. I actually forgot it existed. This friendly reminder will last me a while, unless the Banker outdoes himself. I honestly can’t imagine the Handy Man doing anything like this for me. It’s not that he’s impolite, but we’ve established that we share the same contempt for lame, mushy-gushy stunts like these. As a woman, it is in my nature to desire such gestures, no matter how cynical I am or claim to be. Shame on me for doubting my love of chivalry.
The rest of the night was spectacular. I felt like I was being swept off my feet, dressed to the nines, dancing, eating the most delicious food and drinking expensive wine. Yes, I allowed myself some alcohol, and thank God because it loosened us up for a little bit of passion. The Banker and I kissed for awhile before we said our goodbyes, and I genuinely wanted the night to last forever. Which is when I received a text from the Handy Man bringing me back to reality.
